Lesson Plans

This was a lesson plan created to teach preteens about Cardiovascular Disease. CVD is a nationwide epidemic in America due to many factors. I believe one of those factors is lack of knowledge. We all know CVD comes from being "unhealthy" however not everyone can distinguish what is healthy and unhelathy when it comes to things like food, hobbies, and exercise. If we teach health young, but not too young that they wont remember, then we can cut down on the rates of CVD in America and world wide.
This lesson plan was designed to support parents of children with celiac disease in understanding how to manage the condition effectively. Celiac disease is a serious autoimmune disorder that requires lifelong adherence to a strict gluten-free diet, yet many families struggle due to a lack of clear, practical knowledge. While many people know gluten must be avoided, not everyone can confidently identify hidden sources of gluten or navigate cross-contamination risks in everyday life. By educating parents—who make most of the food, shopping, and lifestyle decisions for their children—we can create safer, healthier home environments and reduce long-term complications related to unmanaged celiac disease.
